I like this. You’re saying that Hillary lost to the right’s “incoherent ball of anchors” because her message itself was incoherent, but that if the Dems — or some party — recommitted to an authentic, coherent message that spoke to and honored the plurality of Americans as coherent subjects, this would easily defeat any cynical behavioral politics. The problem is not that the Dems don’t get behavioral politics, it’s that they stooped to it and lost at it.

I’d buy that.
